Background
Hotaka was born in Midorikawa family and the first son in the family. The family runs weaponry business from generation to generation, and supplying weapons across the country. He has two twin little sisters, and loves them very much, which became some kind of sister-complex. Hotaka has huge passion and wanted to invent a revolutionary weapon. Since he was kid, he likes to make his hand-made shurikens from woods, setting traps for pranks, and soon after his father finds out about his talent, he taught Hotaka how to make real weapons.

- Bukijutsu (Weapon)
Despite using water element ninjutsu, Hotaka prefers to use weapons on battlefield. He usually use long range attacks and traps to distract the enemies. He also learns how to use various weapon types from short range weapons to long range ones.
He always brought some paper scrolls with various sizes. He also learnt how to store weapons and objects into paper scroll for convenient needs. 

- Fuinjutsu
Hotaka developed a branch of fuinjutsu where he can story his paper scolls & weapons in a piece of talisman, inspired from Ao clan's fudajutsu. The technique is used for convenience. Similar to Tenten's. Hotaka also learns some basic fuinjutsu from Banri, in case something happens in the future.

- The name "Hotaka" means "tall, grain", and his surname "Midorikawa" means "green river"
- He admires Banri as a senior and a good friend, and always want to be like him.
